Their ability to isolate specific chemical signatures within complex fire scenes makes them an essential asset to fire departments conducting origin and cause investigations.
Our ignitable liquid detection canines are carefully selected to ensure an incredible drive, specifically tailored for detection work. They’re trained using a food-reward methodology. Their training lasts several months, and includes a variety of different fire scenes, both indoor and outdoor. This thorough training ensures dependable performance in real-world investigative situations.
Each canine is conditioned to locate the target odor, respond by going directly to the source, and most importantly, hold source until rewarded by the handler. They are trained on and off lead, making the canine search unbiased Additionally, they’re placed in a variety of distraction scenarios to ensure they maintain focus, regardless of the distractions around them. Verbal direction is not required during the search process, as the canine is trained to work independently and without cues. Handlers should simply put on their belt and allow the canine to work!
